Satisfying day

Woke up at 11ish again.. i found myself rushing out of the house, running for bus.. What's new? hahaa.. So Da glam! *Shakes head* I ought to do something about it. The only solution is to sleep early, hence able to wake up early too.

I was rushing to meet my Adv Rehab clinical friends (Shelly, Catherine and Jieting). We went to Mongkok Restaurant to yum cha. Gosh! The food was comparable with those in Singapore. Hmmm!!! YUm Yum! It was alittle pricey but well, we ought to enjoy ourselves once in awhile. hahah.. Great catching up with them and that couldnt wait for Shelly and Catherine (Aussie) to come over to visit us in Singapore. Shelly would be flyin to Spore in Jan and that Mel and me would be bringing her to mambo night! WHeee~ Heaps of eating and sightseeing. You know what, Jieting was telling them the places to eat in Singapore which i had never heard before. I felt like a Non-Singaporean somehow. I should go back and explore Singapore again! hahah..

I had to leave halfway to go for my 2nd appointment. Had to meet up with my clients who was going to take part in the City-Bay walk (It's like a marathon thingie.. but it is only for 3km.. i rekon is for the disabled or children). I was practising how to walk with her. In that session, i brought home a few messages.

1. "Never say never.. Nothing is impossible."
My Client has complicated health history and had bilateral legs amputated. All of the health professionals she saw previously told her that she would never be able to walk again. Her goal is to walk in Antartica but now someone who is told never to walk again is walking for this 3km event with her prosthesis and walking frame. Where is the sky? There is absolutely no limit in how high you can soar~

2. "You must have the guts! As long as you are determined, no one can stop you."
I saw in her eyes.. the passion.. her strong urge of wanting it!!! Gosh, someone with so much barriers is not giving up.. not surrendering to "destiny".. so the more i shant, isnt it? hahaha

The most beautiful thing is that.. i am feeling so glad i am someone that can help her achieve her goal. Making a difference in a person's life.. has always been the most satisfying thing in my life. I simply love my job.. something that coincides with my personal values.

After that, i went to Australian Red Cross to donate blood.
As usual, i was stopped for awhile coz my haemoglobin was alittle low for donating blood. My blood pressure was sitting at 103/71! Sigh.. why why? Thought i was called to go home but they gave it a go after taking 2 tubes full of my blood for sampling. CRap! I felt alittle faintish but kinda recovered quickly. After the sample was tested and my haemoglobin was sitting at 12.3! I was so so happy. You must be thinking i am crazy coz i just cant wait to donate blood, right? hahaha.. Look! There are so many people that need our blood, do something for them.. and the goodness will return. I believe that if i want ppl to treat me well, i need to treat ppl well first. Well well.. that's me! So if i am in an accident and i need blood, i hope there are ppl out there that would come in and donate blood for me? of coz touch wood. haha.. Seriously, you will never know when you may need it, isnt it? Life is unpredictable! By the way.. they drew out 470ml of my blood! Nearly fainted when i saw the label! I used to only donate 250ml in Singapore! That was double of my usual. During the process, this caucasian guy sitting next to me smiled and said hi to me and i replied hi and giggled and didnt know how to continue the conversation.. hahaha.. Crap! Shy Girl!!! *Grin* hahaha.. Did i mention, when the big needle went into my vein, it was freaking painful! I looked away but that was the worst pain i had from needle. Nearly teared but as what Nelson Mandela said, " You must put up a front, because you are a leader!" haha.. abit off track but u know what i mean.. haha.. was reading this interesting write up off TIME about Nelson Mandela. He is an inspiring man.. once i am done with my reading, will share some thoughts online.

I was supposed to meet mel at 5 ish but ended at nearly 6. I had to off the phone so not to disrupt the whatever machine in the room. Mel freaked out and called Perk when my phone was off. Instead of hearing that i was DONATING BLOOD, perk heard that i was VOMITTING BLOOD! Muaahhaa.. Choy! but thot it was really funny.. vomit blood? muhahhaa. have yet to try that.
Today, I had Sushi at Sushi train with mel for dinner and then went for grocery shopping. It's friday! so need to buy more things to stock up. Mel and me have found a way to light up the oven and griller last night. As usual, staring at the equipment hard enough helps. hahaha.. Well, or should i say, both of us are just plain SMART! hahaha.. *raises one eyebrow* And i wont be surprised if i found bruises over the needle incision coz i was carrying heavy weights straight after and the fellow jammed the needle in with force! *Sobsob* But that is not goin to stop me from saving lives! haha..The next aim is to donate plasma! hmm.. dont know how is it like? Anyone wants to join me?

Tired tired.. need to wake up early for footy tmr.
Night! *Yawnz*
